Oregano a gift of nature !

Oregano is a herb we love very much here in Greece!

We use to add it in most of our dishes!

Oregano plants in the center among melissa plants, happy neighbors!

Our day to day activities include handpicking herbs at the farmland, collecting buckets full of freshly harvested produce into bunches and hanging them upside down to dry naturally in a dark and well-ventilated space. We are proud to use this traditional drying method, which is the secret behind their potency and lasting aroma, and we are always excited to observe the colour of the leaves changing gradually as they are getting fully dried.

Here is our oregano packed in a cotton 100%  pouch which is handmade by me. I know sewing and we all love natural things and we really loved our herb pouches. It's a nice idea for a gift from nature to a friend of yours!

We are proud to have been awarded in Great Taste Awards, a very prestigious international blind-tasted food competition. We were completely delighted that in 2015 we entered for the first time 4 products and won 4 awards. Our oregano won two stars and our thyme, melissa and sage one star each. All of them are now able to proudly carry the little gold and black Great Taste logo

That was a result of our hard work and commitment to environmentally friendly and natural farming practices. A member of the Guild of Fine Food said that the results of 2015 show that there’s a clear theme of a return to simple and traditional artisan foods. You can't get more traditional than our naturally dried herbs!

Judges comments included:
✰✰ Oregano – “A truly wonderful aroma, rich in aromatic volatiles and very characterful… The flavours are “true” and nuanced and powerful

Here we are in the yard of our house. In the ground floor it's our packing space , I will take a ride to all this in a next post!
