May ....it's time for Sage Harvest!

Sage harvest with flowers

At the beginning of May it's a time for celebrating aliveness, creativity and beauty of nature

I take walks and admire blossoms in my garden and in our herbland! I love sage lilac flowers! We harvest sage early on May and collect only the powerful leaves!

Sage is a popular herb with long grayish leaves which, when it blooms, is filled with small lilac flowers. Traditionally it is used as a beverage to stimulate the body and soothe indigestion. Drink it while battling a cold or do gargles to make your sore throat feel better.

Don’t hesitate to use it as culinary herb in your kitchen as well - it pairs especially well with tomato sauces. We also recommend it as a substitute to lavender to protect your clothes in your closet.
Sage  is used for digestive problems, including loss of appetite, gas (flatulence), stomach pain (gastritis), diarrhea, bloating, and heartburn. It is also used for reducing overproduction of perspiration and saliva; and for depression, memory loss, and Alzheimer's disease.

Sage Leaves

My working table !
Fresh sage and thyme just harvested by my son! Too much work to do until we clean take the leaves away from the branches!
We work patiently , hearing some good music and drinking tea of coffee!

I will take you a little bit around my garden now!
I always admire my Santolina or Lavender Cotton plants during Spring. It's a beautiful
evergreen shrub noted not only for its dense , fine silvery gray-green foliage all year around but for its drought tolerance.

I wish you are having a great time this Spring! Its time to be strong and stay healthy!
